Peyton Manning will undergo MRI

SAN DIEGO -- Denver quarterback Peyton Manning will undergo an MRI on Monday after taking a selection of big hits in the Broncos' win against San Diego at Qualcomm Stadium on Sunday, including a low hit from Chargers defensive end Corey Liuget with 1:44 to play.
"I'm pretty sore," Manning said following the 28-20 victory. "They got me twice in that lower area. I felt better coming into the game after the bye week, but I'm pretty sore."

Manning was hit just after he threw a 7-yard completion to Demaryius Thomas for a first down in the game's closing minutes. Manning stayed on the ground following the play, and the Broncos' trainers briefly attended to him.
Trainers quickly looked at his right ankle and Manning was flexing his right leg during the timeout the Broncos were assessed following the play. The Broncos are believed to want to have an MRI on Manning's knee as well.
Manning stayed in the game and finished things out, but he was limping slightly in the locker room afterward.
Manning wouldn't specify what he injured, saying, "Lower body, [I] feel like the injury report is very revealing to the opponent as well as the folks in Vegas, so I guess somewhere in that lower body."
Manning was then asked if the injury was something he would have to deal with for the remainder of the season.
"I hope not, I'd like to be able to shake it," he said.
Manning who spoke to the team's medical staff as soon as he entered the locker room after the game, said the doctors informed him he will have the MRI on Monday morning. The Broncos are scheduled to have their usual meetings, but will not have their first on-field practice of the week until Wednesday.

"It's just what the docs said, and I had one a couple weeks ago," Manning said. "And so took a couple hits today, so just kind of update to see what it says. Hopefully it's no change."
Liuget said it wasn't an intentional hit.
"I was trying to get to him because I knew how critical it could be to us as a defense to get to him," he said. "I was just working it and trying to be the guy. I'm not sure how I caught him but I hope he is OK. It's not anything that is going to stop him from being Peyton Manning."
The Broncos will face the NFL's sack leaders -- the Kansas City Chiefs -- next Sunday night in Denver. When asked if he would play against the Chiefs, Manning paused slightly before saying, "I definitely plan on it."
Leading up to the Broncos' win over the Washington Redskins, just before Denver's bye week, Manning missed a day of practice with two sprained ankles he suffered in the team's loss to Indianapolis. He then practiced for the remainder of that week and played against Washington. The Broncos then held Manning out of their two practices during the bye week, but he practiced every day this past week.
Manning finished the win against the Chargers 25-of-36 passing for 330 yards and four touchdowns. It was his eighth 300-yard game of the season and his fifth game with at least four touchdowns.
